洪业（1893—1980），号煨莲（William ）。福建侯官人。现代著名史学家、教育家。先后就读于卫斯良大学、哥伦比亚大学、纽约协和神学院，获得文学学士、文学硕士、神学学士等学位。1923年回国，被聘为燕京大学历史系教授，任大学文理科科长，先后兼任历史系主任、大学图书馆馆长、研究院文科主任及导师等。创办《燕京学报》，并以哈佛—燕京学社引得编纂处主任总纂哈佛—燕京学社《引得》64种。1946年春赴美讲学， 1948至1968年兼任哈佛大学东亚系研究员。1980年在美国去世。其学术名篇有《考利玛窦之世界地图》《礼记引得序》《春秋经传引得序》《杜诗引得序》《〈蒙古秘史〉源流考》《破斧》等。所撰《礼记引得序》于1937年获法国巴黎茹理安（一作儒莲）奖金。主要著述见《洪业论学集》（北京：中华书局， 1981年）、Tu Fu: China＇s Greates...(展开全部)
